How To Add An Addon Domain In cPanel?

What is an Addon Domain?

An Addon Domain allows you to host an entirely separate website under your existing cPanel account, using a different domain name. This means you can manage multiple websites — each with its own content, files, and email addresses — without needing to purchase a separate hosting plan.

This feature is ideal for users managing multiple sites, agencies handling client websites, or anyone who wants to separate projects while keeping everything in one place.

In the guide below, we’ll walk you through how to add a new domain as an addon domain in cPanel.

Login into your cPanel using the username and password provided. You can retrieve your cPanel credentials from your registered email once you have subscribed to our plans.

Inside cPanel, scroll down to the Domains section and click “Domains”.

In the Domains area, Click Create A New Domain.

In the Domain box, type your domain name. For example, to create gbndomain.com, simply enter: gbndomain.com
Important: You must untick the checkbox labeled “Share document root (/home/username/public_html) with ‘gbndomain.com’”. This ensures your addon domain uses its own separate folder and doesn't share files with your main domain.

Once everything is filled in correctly, click the Submit button.

You’ll receive a confirmation message once the addon domain is successfully created.

You’ve successfully added a new Addon Domain in cPanel. This domain now has its own directory and can host an entirely separate website under the same hosting account. You can begin uploading your site files into the newly created document root.
