# How to Backup Workflow in n8n?

Backing up workflows ensures that your automation setups are safely preserved, allowing you to restore them if needed, prevent data loss, and maintain continuity in your processes. By following this guide, users can efficiently manage their workflows and safeguard important automation configurations.

This guide will walk you through how to backup workflow in n8n.

1. Log in to your n8n panel using the **email** and **password** you created during the initial setup.

2. Open the workflow you want to back up. Then, click the **three-dot icon** on the right and select **Download** to save the workflow.

|| Note: This backup only includes the workflow structure. **Credentials are not included** and must be reconfigured manually after restoring.
