How to Delete Backup from Acronis Cyber Protect?

Why do we need to delete backups in Acronis Cyber Protect?


When your storage limit is exceeded, it's necessary to delete old backups to free up space and ensure new data can be backed up properly.


Deleting a backup in Acronis Cyber Protect will permanently remove the selected backup data from the storage location. This action helps you manage your storage usage more efficiently by removing outdated or unnecessary backups that are no longer required.


This guide will show you how to delete backups in Acronis Cyber Protect safely and efficiently:


  1. Log in to your Client Area.


  1. Click on Services in Client Area.


  1. Select the Acronis Cyber Cloud. Then, click Manage.


  1. Click Go to Cloud Console.


  1. Under the Usage section, click Open Service.


  1. In the left sidebar, go to Backups under the Backup Storage. Click your selected backup that you want. Then, click on Show Backups.


  1. After that, click the Actions button and click Delete from the dropdown to delete the backup.


You have successfully delete backup from Acronis Panel Protect.


Please note that when a backup is deleted in Acronis Cyber Protect, it will not be permanently removed immediately due to the retention policy in place. The deleted backup will still be retained for up to 14 days before it is permanently deleted from the system. During this retention period, the backup remains available and can still be restored if needed. This provides an additional safety layer in case the backup was deleted unintentionally.
