How To Increase/Decrease PHP Memory & Upload Limit

If you're running into issues uploading large files or facing memory-related errors on your website, adjusting the PHP memory limit and upload size in cPanel can help resolve these problems. This step-by-step guide will walk you through how to easily modify these settings through your cPanel dashboard.

Login to your cPanel using Username and Password.

Under the Software section, click on Select PHP Version option.

After the PHP version interface opens, click on the Options tab to view and modify PHP configuration settings.

Scroll down to locate the memory_limit option. Click on the value and choose the amount of memory you want to allocate.

Find the upload_max_filesize setting and increase the value to allow larger file uploads, such as media or backup files.

Next, under Software section, click on MultiPHP INI Editor.

Select your domain from the dropdown list. Scroll down to find memory_limit and upload_max_filesize again, and adjust them to your preferred values for this specific domain.

Conclusion:
Great job! You've successfully changed the PHP memory limit and upload size through cPanel. These changes will help improve your site's performance and allow for larger file uploads. If you continue to experience issues, you may need to check other PHP settings.
