How to Backup Workflow in n8n?

Backing up workflows ensures that your automation setups are safely preserved, allowing you to restore them if needed, prevent data loss, and maintain continuity in your processes. This guide will walk you through how to backup workflow in n8n.


  1. Log in to your n8n panel using the email and password you created during the initial setup.


  1. Open the workflow you want to back up. Then, click the three-dot icon on the right and select Download to save the workflow.


Note: This backup only includes the workflow structure. Credentials are not included and must be reconfigured manually after restoring.


You have successfully backup workflow in n8n.
